"World War II and Korean Conflict Veterans Interred Overseas" and discovered this information on Thomas A. Burns, who received a Purple Heart for giving the ultimate sacrifice on December 28, 1942 while in service.


Thomas A. Burns served in the Army 126th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division, while fighting in the Philippines either near or in the city of Manila. 
Thomas A. Burns is buried in the American Cemetery in Taguig City, which is part of the surrounding area of the City of Manila in the Philippines.


Thomas A. Burns father was James M. Burns and his mother’s name was Mary.  According to the 1930 and 1940 U.S. Military Internment records, they lived at
140 Gamewell Street in Hackensack.


Thomas A. Burns’ name is listed on the 1946 Yearbook Dedication Page and
the Plaque at City Hall in Hackensack.
